Diane Davidson, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer
Diane R. Davidson joined Elections Canada as Director of Legal Services in October 2000 and was named Chief Legal Counsel in October 2001. Her current position is Deputy Chief Electoral Officer and Chief Legal Counsel where she is responsible for Legal Services, Outreach Communications and Research, as well as the agency’s international services.
Before joining Elections Canada, Ms. Davidson also worked at Justice Canada in the Legislative Services section from January 2000 as Assistant Chief Legislative Counsel (Regulations). She also previously worked as General Legal Counsel of the House of Commons from 1981 to 1999 where she gained significant expertise in parliamentary law.
