UNDP Electoral Assistance Implementation Guide (2007) This guide is designed to assist Country Offices (COs) in the planning, formulation, monitoring and implementation of Electoral Assistance activities. Using the concept of the Electoral Cycle, it incorporates the view of elections as a long-term process rather than a one-off event, drawing on the extensive knowledge of individuals with vast experience of electoral administration and electoral assistance as well as the organisational knowledge of UNDP and other institutions.

EC-UNDP Operational Guidelines on Electoral Assistance (2006) Within the framework of the Strategic Partnership between EC and UNDP, a specific document on Electoral Assistance activities was signed in April 2006 – the Operational Guidelines on Electoral Assistance. This document rationalized an existing de facto partnership on the ground and aimed at clarifying implementation aspects, tightening up and improving the EC/UNDP collaboration on electoral assistance and providing for more concrete involvement and influence of the EC in the preparation of projects. In practical terms, it provides Delegations with a centrally agreed operational framework for the implementation of electoral assistance projects; and is applicable only when and if a Delegation decides to contribute to UNDP managed project of assistance.
