Lebanese electoral system - Briefing Paper #1

IFES-Lebanon is compiling a series of briefing papers providing background information on the Lebanese electoral system and some of the key issues relating to the electoral process. The first of such papers delineates the distribution of parliamentary seats by confession and provides a break down of the confessional districts in Lebanon with special emphasis on those in Beirut. It also includes an example on the electoral system in practice and an overview of the Lebanese ballot papers and the electoral lists.
