|
This report analyzes the delicate political situation in Pakistan. After Musharraf’s failure to dismiss the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the opposition parties and the civil society might try to set in motion a democratic transition. The International Crisis Group recommends to hold fair and democratic elections to resolve this political crisis. Furthermore, the ICG calls on the International Community, namely the EU and the US, to help this democratic transition and to preserve the stability of the region.
