July 27, 2008

The election is scheduled to be held in Cambodia on 27 July 2008. The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced eleven (11) political parties will formally compete in the 4th National Assembly Member.

Indonesia  | Parliamentary

April 9, 2009

The election is scheduled to be held in Indonesia on April 9, 2009. The Electoral Management Body, Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU), has announced thirty four (34) political parties that will participate in the 2009 legislative election.

Political Debate on Three Top Priorities of Political Platform  - July 18, 2008

The debate will be held at Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In the Debate, the leaders or senior representatives from 10 political parties will present their 3-top priority platforms to be activated as soon as being elected. Also, as participants, the representatives from Civil Society; NGOs, Youth, Women, Disabled People and citizens; Development Partner; Political Party, around 100 people are invited to raise any concerned questions.

BRIDGE Module in Timor-Leste

The Seventh Asia-Europe People’s Forum (AEPF)

The forum will be held in Beijing, China on 13-17 October 2008. The purpose of the AEPF is to contribute to the realization of a world based on the principles of peace, participatory democracy, social justice, human rights, food sovereignty, sustainability and people’s rights to self-determination.

Volunteer Needed - Deadline: 5pm Monday 05 May 2008

The Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Cambodia (COMFREL) is urgently seeking four (4) volunteers to monitor the media coverage during the election periods from June to July 2008 based in Phnom Penh.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and analyze the information covered in media related to elections political parties,
- Entering the data/information into database,
- Other tasks as required.

2007 Election


Thailand | Parliamentary

December 23, 2007

The 2007 Thai general election was the first legislative election after the Council for National Security overthrown Thailand's elected government and suspended the constitution on September 19, 2006. The PPP won 226 out of 400 of the MP seats. The Democrat Party came with 166 seats, Chart Thai 39, For the Motherland 26, Ruam Jai Thai Chat Pattana 10, the Neutral Democratic Party 7, and Pracharat 4.

Thailand | Referendum

August 19, 2007

Thailand referendum on the new constitution resulted in exit polls of about 60% voter turnout. 56.69% of the voters have voted Yes to the new constitution while 41.37% voted No.

Timor-Leste | parliamentary

June 30, 2007

East Timor conducted its first parliamentary election since 2002 Independence to select 65 deputies for the National Parliament. With the result of 29.02% wins for the FRETILIN party.


Timor-Leste | presidential second round

May 9, 2007

After the first round election held on April 9, 2007, the result of the remaining candidates are José Ramos Horta and Francisco Guterres. On the second round
election held on May 9, 2007, José Ramos
Horta won with 69% of the vote.

May 14, 2007

Legislative election was held in the Philippines for seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives. The elected legislators along with the 2004 elected senators will continue to comprise in the 14th Congress of the Philippines.

Burma (Myanmar) | Referendum


May 10, 2008

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, a referendum was held in two-thirds of Burma. However in the Cyclone worst hit areas, the referendum were being postponed for two weeks. For more information, click here.

 

Malaysia | Parliamentary

March 8, 2008

The 12th Malaysian general election was held after the Parliament was dissolved on February 13, 2008. The results were 82 seats (out of 222 seats in parliament) or 36.9% of parliamentary seats won by the opposition parties, with Barisan Nasional winning the remaining 140 seats or 63.1%. This is the first time since 1969 that the coalition did not win a two-thirds majority in the Malaysian Parliament.

Thailand | Senatorial

March 2, 2008

The Senatorial election in Thailand was held nationwide. From around 76 provinces, each will have one elected senator, with another 74 appointed to fill the 150-seat Senate.
