Challenges of Conflict, Democracy and Decelopment in Africa. The debate on the interface between democracy and development is an old one, yet it has still not been resolved in either academic or policy discourse especially in the African context.




 

EISA Research Report No. 34: Consolidating Democratic Governance in Soutern Africa: Namibia, 2007.  The research aims to investigate the state of democracy and governance in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, posing a key question as to whether or not the region has undergone democratic transition and, if so, posing a related question as to whether or not the region is firmly set on the road to democratic consolidation.
