Following his defeat in the July 11 Nevis island Administration (NIA) elections, and subsequent allegations of irregularities in the electoral process, the Deputy leader of the main opposition Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM), Mark Brantley, has filed a petition in the courts challenging the results.

This acts of violence were seen last week's during the disciplinary hearing of ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema. It is reported the ANC will focus on those who mobilised people to embark on the violent protest. The Party said it was also aware of ANC Youth League holding provincial general council meetings throughout the country.
