Elections are expected to be held on January.
- India: Researcher arrested for alleged voting machine theft, Reuters (2010)
- This article reports on the arrest of a security researcher who was investigating on the electronic voting machines used in Indian elections. The researcher, Hari Prasad, was arrested in Mumbai for supposedly stealing one of the machines. In April, Mr Prasad demonstrated that it was possible to attack the machines and fraud the elections.

- This press release of the Central Election Commission informs that several instructions on the order of application of electoral procedures in the forthcoming parliamentary elections were adopted. They concern such issues as registration of proxies, sealing of ballot boxes, election monitoring by foreign media and observers, casting a vote using three ballot-papers, amongst others.

- Leader of the Progressive National Party (PNP) Clayton Greene has written the United Kingdom Government calling for a referendum on the proposed changes to the voting system in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) and all other controversial aspects of the constitution.
- Thailand: EC satisfied with party lists registration, Bangkok Post (2011)
- This article reports that the first day of election candidates registration went over well with 29 political parties submitting their party lists and drawing lots to decide positions on the ballot paper. The EC reported that after the end of registration of candidates on party list on 23 May 2011 the EC would take no more than 10 days to check their qualifications before anouncing the names of qualified candidates.

- This article reported the registration of election candidates on 19 May 2011. The Democrat party of PM Abhisit Vejjajiva drew position number 10 on the ballot paper while opposition party, Pheu Thai, drew number 1 in the party list system of representation.

The commission will "assess pre-election preparations, campaigning, voting, counting and tabulation of the results on election day, as well as during the post-election period."

- Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow has announced General Elections for 7 March 2012. In an official press release issued t by the Government Press Office, Mr. Barrow who was elected to office for a five year term on 7 February 2008, stated that he had called on Governor General Sir Colville Young to dissolve the National Assembly on Friday February 3rd and set the date for Belize general elections one year before they are due.

- This news article says Jibril's National Forces Alliance (NFA) was heading for landslide victories in the Tripoli suburb of Janzour and the western region towns of Zlitan, Misalata, Tarhouna and Khoms with over three-quarters of votes counted in those areas. However on Sunday Jibril brushed aside such speculation and offered talks with all of Libya's 150-plus political parties to create a grand coalition.

- This news article says the Palestinian government in the West Bank called Tuesday for local elections to be held in the West Bank and Gaza on October 20, the first since 2006, an official said. The decision followed two such calls for local elections last year, with the Palestinian government in the West Bank seeking to hold the vote first in July 2011 and then in October 2011.

- This news article says opposition leaders have suggested that parliamentary elections be delayed until next year, so that the government will have time to draft a new elections law acceptable by all. The Lower House on Sunday 8 July, endorsed an amended version of the 2012 Elections Law, raising the number of House seats allocated for the national list to 27. A majority of MPs voted in favour of the government’s amendments, under which the number of seats allocated for the closed proportional list at the national level was raised to 27 instead of 17 as stipulated in the previous version.
