Comments: The counting of votes shall, subject to any general or special direction of the Election Commission, commence at the polling station or any other publicly designated place at any time after the close of poll.

When are ballots recounted?


Question:Under what conditions are ballots recounted?
Answer(s): d. By request
Comments: A political party, a candidate or, in his/her absence, his/her election or counting representatives may, within 24 hours of the announcement of the result by the Returning Officer under the provisions of section 432, apply in writing to the Returning Officer to recount the votes either wholly or in part stating the grounds on which he/she demands the recount.
