Question:Are there any Legal Provisions for Direct Democracy Procedures at the national level?
Answer: b. No
Comments: The Basic Statute of the State does not establish direct democracy mechanisms like referendums or initiatives; however, it does emphasize the importance of the Shura Council and public participation in governance: Article 9: States that citizens have the right to participate in public affairs. Article 58 (bis 36): Allows Majlis Oman to propose draft laws and refer them to the government for review.
