(ii) is attainted of treason, or has been convicted and is under sentence, or subject to be sentenced, for any offence
punishable under the law of the Commonwealth or of a State by imprisonment for one year or longer; or
(iii) is an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent; or
(iv) holds any office of profit under the Crown, or any pension payable during the pleasure of the Crown out of
any of the revenues of the Commonwealth: or
AUSTRALIA’S CONSTITUTION 14
(v) has any direct or indirect pecuniary interest in any agreement with the Public Service of the Commonwealth
otherwise than as a member and in common with the other members of an incorporated company consisting
of more than twenty-five persons;
shall be incapable of being chosen or of sitting as a senator or a member of the House of Representatives.

Candidacy for Membership in the House of Representatives
Article (11)
Without prejudice to the provisions established in the Law on the Exercise of Political Rights, a candidate for membership in the House of Representatives must meet the following conditions:
a. Must be Bahraini and have held Bahraini nationality for at least ten years. The candidate must not hold any other nationality, except for the nationality of one of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), provided that Bahraini nationality remains the primary one, and the candidate enjoys full civil and political rights.
b. The candidate’s name must be listed in the electoral roll of the constituency in which they are running.
c. Must be at least thirty (30) full years old on the day of the election.
d. Must be proficient in reading and writing in Arabic.
e. Membership in the Shura Council or the House of Representatives must not have been revoked by a decision from the respective council due to loss of trust, credibility, or failure to fulfill membership duties. However, individuals whose membership was revoked may run for candidacy if the legislative term during which the revocation occurred has ended, or if the council that issued the revocation decides to nullify its effects on candidacy after the conclusion of the legislative session in which the revocation took place.
f. Membership in the House of Representatives must not have been terminated due to resignation during the same legislative term.

The constitution was amended for the 19th time in April of 27, 2017.
The amendment lowered the age level qualification from twenty-five to eighteen to be eligible for the chamber. Furthermore, whereas under the previous constitution mandatory military service was a requirement to running for the deputy post,the new amendment required no relation with the military to be eligible to run for the chamber.
Every Turk over the age of 18 is eligible to be a deputy.
Persons who have not completed primary education, who have been
deprived of legal capacity, who are in relation with their
military services, who are banned from public service, who
have been sentenced to a prison term totalling one year or
more excluding involuntary offences, or to a heavy
imprisonment; those who have been convicted of
dishonourable offences such as embezzlement, corruption,
bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, breach of trust, fraudulent
bankruptcy; and persons convicted of smuggling, conspiracy
in official bidding or purchasing, of offences related to the
disclosure of state secrets, of involvement in acts of terrorism,
or incitement and encouragement of such activities, shall not
be elected as a deputy, even if they have been granted
amnesty.
Judges and prosecutors, members of the higher judicial
organs, lecturers at institutions of higher education, members
of the Council of Higher Education, employees of public
institutions and agencies who have the status of civil
servants, other public employees not regarded as labourers
on account of the duties they perform, and members of the
armed forces shall not stand for election or be eligible to be a
deputy unless they resign from office
Law: art. 21: Applicants for independent candidature shall also deposit an amount equal to the gross salary of a civil servant of the highest rank to the responsible sub-division of the treasury and add the receipt thereof to the documents of their application for candidature. They are reimbursed if they receive a sufficient number of votes to be elected (or withdraw candidature within the legal time limit or whose candidature is declined or in case of death - the money is reimbursed to their legal successors.)

65.—(1) Subject to this section and section 66, a person shall be qualified to be elected as a

(i) is a Virgin Islander of the age of twenty-one years or upwards; and
(ii) is otherwise qualified as a voter under section 68.
(2) Subject to subsections (3) and (4), for the purposes of subsection (1)(b)(i) a “Virgin
Islander” is a person who belongs to the Virgin Islands by birth or descent who was—
(a) born in the Virgin Islands of a father or mother who at the time of the birth was a British
overseas territories citizen (or a British Dependent Territories citizen) by virtue of birth in
the Virgin Islands or by virtue of descent from a father or mother who was born in the
Virgin Islands;
(b) born in the Virgin Islands of a father or mother who at the time of the birth belonged to
the Virgin Islands by birth or descent; or
(c) born outside the Virgin Islands of a father or mother who at the time of the birth belonged
to the Virgin Islands by birth or descent.
(3) A person born outside the Virgin Islands who belongs to the Virgin Islands by descent shall
not be qualified to be elected as a member of the House of Assembly unless one of his or her
grandparents belonged to the Virgin Islands by birth.
