Direct Democracy Provisions (National Level)
Question:Are there any Legal Provisions for Direct Democracy Procedures at the national level?
Answer: a. Yes
Comments: Amendments and addenda to the Constitution shall take place by referendum. The President or the Majlisi Namoyandagon shall appoint referendum with the consent of no less than two thirds of total number of deputies. A referendum is called by the President or the Majlisi Namoyandagon with the support of no less than two thirds of the total number of deputies.

Answer: a. Yes
Comments: The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan is subject to amendments exclusively via referendum. Changing or cancellation of decision made at referendum can be done only through referendum. Amendments and supplements to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan gain juridical force after the announcement of the results of a national referendum from the day of their official publication.
