Criteria for drawing boundaries


Question:On what criteria are the boundaries drawn?

Comments: The boundaries of single-member electoral districts for elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber are determined taking into account the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, as a rule, with an equal number of voters throughout the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Single-member constituencies for elections to local Kengashes are formed by the corresponding territorial, district, city election commission, as a rule, with an equal number of voters once every five years. The boundaries of electoral districts are determined taking into account the administrative-territorial structure of the region, districts and cities. When forming single-member electoral districts, the maximum allowable deviation of the number of voters in electoral districts, as a rule, should not exceed ten percent.
