Voter education occurs at the national level when the announcement of a new election takes place. This is when the date of the election is provided and often when political parties begin campaigning.
However, "election law does not stipulate rules for the conduct of election campaigns, either as regards the maximum amount of money to be spent or the time periods where campaigning may – or may not – take place." But it is important to note that advertisements by politicians and political parties is not permitted on "national Danish television and radio and local Danish television channels [...] but are allowed on commercial radio broadcasting channels."
Finally, the "conduct and publication of opinion polls are not regulated by law. Consequently, such polls can be carried out and published right up to (or even on) election day."

Prior to an election, the Electoral Commission must ensure that a nationwide voter information and education programme is implemented on a timely basis, to inform and educate voters concerning the voter registration process, candidates and political parties, voting procedures, including postal and pre-poll voting, if applicable and procedures for protecting electoral rights.
--It seems that the Fiji Election Commission makes a pretty consistent effort to continuously publish election updates on their website, not just during election time, in response to poor voter education campaigns in the past---

Prior to any forthcoming general election, the Electoral Commissioner's office keeps the electorate informed of the administrative arrangements for every registration exercise through the publication of notices in the Government Gazette and in the local newspapers. Officials of the Electoral Commissioner's office also deliver talks on radio and television to explain the process of registration or polling. The political parties too are very active in this process through political canvassing, radio and television broadcast as well as through the spoken word at public meetings.

According to the EU observation report on the 2009 Presidential, Legislative and Provincial Assembly Elections, the the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) "deployed 2,100 civic and voter education officers throughout the country during two months. They used traditional leaders as points of entry and communication in the communities. They ceased their activities on the day before the official beginning of the election campaign in a bid to avoid creating confusion among voters between voter education and political campaigning. Civic education spots were also broadcast in Portuguese and 22 local languages in national and local radios and TV stations for a period of four months that ended on election day".

In the 2010 parliamentary elections, voter education was carried out in co-ordination with the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda by the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES). This took the form of six television spots that were broadcast by state TV stations on a daily basis. NAPST also conducted voter education in 65 towns for 1,300 people from different professional groups. Several voter education projects were supported by international partners, including in eleven Women’s Resource Centres throughout the country. These provided women with information and training on the voting process.
The situation has not changed considerably in 2024, the need for greater civic education and awareness on the election
process still persist.
