Comments: A member of the Federal National Council must satisfy the following conditions: 1) Must be a citizen of one of the Union Emirates, and permanently resident in the Emirate represented in the Council. 2) Must be not less than twenty-five years old at the time of his selection. 3) Must enjoy his/her civil rights, must have good conduct, sound reputation and must not have been previously convicted for a dishonorable offense unless he has been acquitted in accordance with the law. 4) Must have adequate knowledge of reading and writing.
