Comments: Article 94.- The President and Vice President of the Nation shall be elected directly by the People, in a double round, as established by this Constitution. To this end, the national territory will make up a single district.

Comments: The Congress of the Nation has two chambers. The Chamber of Deputies has 257 members directly elected for 4-year terms, although half of its members are renewed every 2 years. The Senate is made up of 72 members directly elected for 6-year terms, although the third part is renewed every two years.

Electoral System (Chamber 1)
Question:What is the electoral system for Chamber 1 of the national legislature?
Answer(s): g. List Proportional Representation
Comments: Chamber of Deputies: proportional. Party-list system, with proportional distribution of seats according to the d'Hont method. To get a seat, a party must obtain at least 3% of the votes cast in a constituency. The vacant seats arising from general elections are occupied by elected substitutes at the same time as the incumbent members.
