Answer(s): c. Directly elected in general elections (absolute majority with 2nd round if necessary)
Comments: The President is Head of State and is directly elected by universal, direct suffrage for a five year term. The election shall be by a majority of the votes on the first ballot. If this is not obtained, the President of the Republic shall be elected on the second ballot by plurality of one of the two candidates having received the greatest number of votes on the first ballot.
