Before asking a question...
Please note that the ACE Network Facilitators have the discretion to:
reject any question deemed as inappropriate, objectionable or irrelevant;
edit questions before these are submitted to the Practitioners’ Network;
edit the commentaries made by the network's members before a consolidated reply is published on the Archive of Questions & Answers.
Please ensure to:
- complete all fields in the "Ask a Question" form marked as required (with a red dot);
formulate your question in a clear and concise manner, covering election-related thematic subjects;
avoid using inappropriate, inflammatory or offensive language, or addressing political or controversial matters, otherwise your question will not be forwarded to the network.
What are the criteria for a question to be considered as irrelevant?
ACE Network Facilitators have the discretion to decide whether a question is relevant or irrelevant. Irrelevant questions are:
- questions poorly formulated, failing to express a concept clearly and concisely;
- questions covering thematic subjects not having any relevance with the thematic subjects covered by ACE Electoral Knowledge Network;
- questions addressing controversial, non-related or highly political issues;
- questions formulated using offensive, defamatory or inflammatory language.
What is the timeline for the rejection of a question?
From the moment a question has been received, ACE Network Facilitators have one (1) working day to assess whether it is relevant or not. If the question is consdiered as irrelevant, the user receives a notification of rejection message.
What is the expected timeline for a question to be answered?
If otherwise a question is deemed relevant, it is normally answered within eight (8) working days, divided as follows:
- within one (1) working day from submission, ACE Network Facilitators assess whether a question is relevant or irrelevant. If relevant, Facilitators categorize the question according to the topic area/s it pertains and inform members of the Practitioners’ Network of the corresponding Thematic Group of the receipt of a new question. For example, if a question on “Voter Registration” has been received, it is forwarded to the Thematic Group exclusively gathering those members of the Network who, at the time of registration, have selected “Voter Registration” as one of their preferred thematic areas of expertise;
- members of the relevant Thematic Group of the Practitioners’ Network have five (5) working days to provide their answers or comments to a question. After that, Network Facilitators close the question for comments and withdrawn it from the web interface;
- Network Facilitators have two (2) working days to review the commentaries made by the experts and aggregate them into a consolidated reply. The consolidated reply is then posted on the ACE website in the Archive of Questions & Answers.
At this stage, the user who asked the original question is informed that the answer has been posted online in the Archive of Questions & Answers. Through a link provided in the email, the user is invited to retrieve it from the Archive of Questions & Answers.
