• Feb 12, 2011: BRIDGE training in Georgia: Electoral Administration and Observers The trainings will be hosted by UNDP/Georgia, in the framework of the project "Promoting Dialogue and Capacity for Effective National Electoral Processes." The project is carried out with the financial support of European Union. Three trainings will be carried out, on 28-31 January, 3-6 February, and 9-12 February, 2011.
• Feb 12, 2011: Georgia: BRIDGE Trainings for the Election Administration (2011) Within the framework of UNDP project "Developing Capacities for Democratic Institutions for Fair Electoral Processes and Active Civil Participation" BRIDGE training has been conducted for the election administration representatives. Heads of the CEC offices and chairpersons of six district election commissions participated in the above mentioned trainings.
• Dec 07, 2010: Georgia: BRIDGE training for the EMB On December 2-7, within the framework of UNDP project "Developing Capacities for Democratic Institutions for Fair Electoral Processes and Active Civil Participation" BRIDGE training has been conducted for the CEC members and heads of CEC Departments.
• Oct 04, 2010: Georgian opposition parties to present joint project of Electoral Code Eight opposition parties of Georgia will present a joint project of the Election Code. The draft project was developed by the following opposition parties of Georgia - "National Forum", "Republican Party", "Our Georgia - Free Democrats", "Georgia's Way", "New Right", "Christian-Democratic Movement" and "People's Party".

  19th Annual Conference and General Assembly meeting of the Association of European Election Officials

  Developing accurate voters’ list

  9 – 11 September 2010, Tbilisi, Georgia,

   

  Our Association on an annual basis brings together experts and heads of the election management bodies to discuss how to strengthen good governance through the guidance of democratic elections. This professional meeting provides an opportunity for electoral experts to exchange their experiences with colleagues from all around the world.

  This year’s agenda will focus on voters’ registration. The 19^th ACEEEO conference will be the closing event of the 2 years project started in January 2009, entitled ‘Developing accurate voters’ list in transitional democracies’ granted by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).

   

  The conference will feature professional development workshops, panels of election experts, an exhibition of electoral equipment and services.

• May 31, 2010: Georgia: internatonal observers to present findings on local elections (2010) The international observers deployed by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and the Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will present their preliminary statement at a news conference on Monday, 31 May 2010.
• Apr 19, 2010: Georgia: presentation of voters' list monitoring results The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia will present the final results of the voters’ list monitoring implemented by the political parties and will submit the report on CEC activities regarding the voters list. The representatives of media, political parties, local NGOs, international organizations, and diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia will attend the event.
• Mar 19, 2010: Presentation of the CEC Strategy 2010-2011, Georgia The Central Electoral Commission of Georgia will present its strategy and action plan for 2010-2011.
• Dec 07, 2009: Presentation of books: History of Elections and Glossary of Election Terms Central Election Commission of Georgia with United Nations Development Programme presents two books: “History of Elections” and “Glossary of Election Terms”. December 7, the presentation was held at “Sheraton Metekhi Palace”.

  
  

  Central Election Commission of Georgia with United Nations Development Programme presents two books: “History of Elections” and “Glossary of Election Terms”. December 7, the presentation was held at “Sheraton Metekhi Palace”.

  Public and International Relations Department of the Central Election Commission of Georgia decided to collect facts describing ninety years history of elections, as collecting such kind of information and publishing as one book has not occurred up to now.

  All important changes and events implemented from the very day of the CEC establishment up to present are described in details, how many elections have been held in Georgia and what results have been fixed. How Presidential, Parliamentary and Self-Government Elections have been conducted in Georgia and how they are held nowadays.
  “Glossary of Election Terms” has been prepared by the Human Resources Management and Development Department and the Legal Issues Department of the CEC of Georgia.
   
  All election terms are explained and interpreted in the glossary.
   
  The Publication of these two books has been produced with the financial assistance of UNDP project “Development Capacities for Democratic Institutions for Fair Electoral Processes and Active Civic Participation”.
   
  The chairman of the CEC - Levan Tarkhnishvili and the project analyst of United Nations Development Programme - Gigi Bregadze handed the books to the attendees of the presentation. Levan Tarkhnishvili mentioned that all the interesting issues concerning the elections in Georgia are presented in the book and publishing such information as one book has not occurred up to now.
