• The United States of America: Final Report, Cherokee Nation Elections, The Carter Center (1999) The report by the first comprehensive election observation mission, sent by The Carter Center, in the United States in May, 1999. The mission's monitors observed voting within the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma for the positions of principal chief, deputy chief, and all 15 Tribal Council seats.
