Comments:
a.) In order to administer the conduct of elections each of the 22 electoral districts on Sri Lanka are subdivided into a number of polling divisions. Each polling division has a number of polling stations for the conduct of poll. There were 9981 polling station during December 2001 parliamentary elections.
d.) There are also specially designated polling stations for voters from uncleared areas (war areas). They are know as cluster polling stations. There is also a provision for voters displaced due to conflict.
