- I am happy to announce that IIEC has today registered 10,036,415 voters. This means we have managed to reach our minimum target of 10 million. The voter registration exercise which begun on 22nd March will close on Wednesday 5th May 2010 for the Manual Voter Registration exercise (OMR), while the Electronic Voter Registration (EVR) which begun on 12th April 2010 will be closing on 21st May 2010. I urge my fellow Kenyans who are not part of the 10 million voters to register within the remaining days. On behalf of IIEC I wish to express my gratitude to those Kenyans who have already registered. I also wish to express the gratitude of the Commission to our stakeholders in the electoral process, namely, the government, political parties, the civil society, media, religious organizations and all Kenyans who helped in the mobilization of the people to register.
