- Guyana:Elections still some time away as voters list not updated – Corbin, Stabroek News (2011)
- At least one political party in Guyana is holding off on its election campaign until an official election date has been announced. Commenting on the perceived lethargy of his party, Leader of the main opposition People's National Congress/Reform (PNCR), Robert Corbin, says his party still has some time to prepare for elections as the voters' list has not yet been updated and an election date is yet to be announced.

- Guyana has welcomed a financial boost to its electoral process in the form of two grants received from the United States Agency for International Development / Guyana through its Governance Enhancement Project (GEP). The grants were awarded to the Guyana Council of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities and to Merundoi Incorporated. Both grants total approximately US$35,000.

The NAM held meetings in Bishkek with representatives of the provisional government, election administration, political parties, media, civil society and international community.

- The Organization of American States deployed an observation mission for the upcoming general elections.The chief of the mission, Irene Klinger, already held meetings with the authorities. This is the fifth AOS mission in Suriname.
