Namanda Hadija

My name is Namanda Hadija, 36 years old and a holder second class degree of Bachelors of Industrial and fine Arts of Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. I also have certificates in computer application. I am currently applying for this course to enable me gain knowledge in the field I have worked in for the past 8 years. I completed the degree course in 1998 after which I worked as a neon artist. In 1999, I worked as a teacher of Physics and mathematics. In 2001, I had a stint as a Data Processor in the Electoral commission on temporary terms. Then in 2002, I worked as a researcher with Quality of care in Mulago Hospital. This research was to do with maternal health and childcare. Then in 2003, the Electoral Commission advertised for several jobs and I applied for Supervisor Image processing. I performed well in the interviews and was taken on full time. My job encompassed image data capture, editing, conversion and upload to the Data base for compilation into the national Voters Register. In 2006 still at the Electoral Commission, I was assigned a new role as Supervisor for the Midwest Region. This role involved field trips to the 12 Districts in my region; The trips were for supervision of activities like Update of the Voters register/registration; Overseeing the Display of the Voters’ rolls and supervision of Voting day activities. With my background as an Artist and Industrial designer to having the occupation of an Election Officer for the last 9 years; within which I have been fully involved in two presidential Elections, I believe ACE will be one of the programmes I am going to be involved in to further my knowledge as an Electioneer. I have to continue to study and broaden my knowledge since I am also fully involved as a trainer of trainers for the different stages of the Electoral cycle, for example, update of the Voter’s register, Display of the Voter’s registers and the training of officials for polling day activities. I consider myself to be a good candidate for ACE because I am a self motivated, visionary, hardworking lady who believe with the knowledge I will achieve, I will be able to serve my country with more zeal and on better knowledgeable base. I frankly believe that with continuous quest for knowledge one becomes better and better in the field of specialty. I believe I will come out a better Electoral official if I am trained and developed through this course.
