1. The ballots for elections are prepared by the CEC. The ballot shall not be transparent and
shall contain security elements specified by the CEC.
2. The ballots are produced in blocks with stubs. The serial number is noted only on the
stub.
3. For elections to the Assembly, the voter votes with a ballot paper divided into two
sections of different colors, one section for the candidates who are competing directly inthe zone and the other for the political parties and coalitions that are competing in those
elections. The part of the ballot paper for political parties and coalitions is the same for
all electoral zones.
4. For elections for the local government organs, the ballot paper is divided into two
sections of colors different from each other. In one section, one votes for candidates to the
municipal or communal council and in the other, for candidates for mayor of the
municipality or commune.
5. For elections for the local government of the capital, two ballot papers are used, one for
the mayor and the municipal council of Tirana, and the other for the municipal units. The
format of the ballot papers is designed according to section 4 of this article.
The Form of the Ballot Paper
1. The ballot is printed according to the model prepared by the CEC. The back of the ballot
has a place for putting the signature of the chairman and the vice chairman and the seal of
the VCC.
2. Failure to sign the ballot by one of the subjects indicated in section 1 of this article does
not constitute a reason not to begin the voting procedures.
Content of the ballot paper
1. The names of candidates for deputy, or mayor of a municipality or commune, are placed
on the ballot according to the alphabetical order of their name.
2. The following are written on the ballot paper:
a) the name, patronymic, and surname of the candidate as it appears on the nomination
documentation;
b) the name and initials of the party and/or coalition the candidate represents, or the
word “independent,” is written below the candidate’s name.
3. The names of registered political parties or coalitions are placed on the ballot section for
political parties or coalitions together with their initial letters as well as the initial letters
of the name and the surname of the chairman of the political party, or the chairmen of
the coalition member parties. When the participating parties of a coalition have decided
to appear separately on the ballot paper, the name of the coalition is written first,
followed by the name of the member party in the coalition. They are placed on the
ballot paper grouped together one after the other. The order on the ballot paper is
determined by alphabetical order, according to the name of the party or coalition. The
order on the ballot for the member parties in a coalition which appear separately on the
ballot paper is determined by the alphabetical order of their name.
4. The voter marks in the special place at the side of the name of the candidate or party or
coalition, one of the signs “x” or “+” or another mark that clearly indicates the choice of
the voter.

The ballots for deputies has the following ones characteristic:
a) Divided horizontally in two parts similar with fringes or columns
of same dimension for each party or alliance. It takes form the
colors, symbols of the Politic Party and their name. The fringe of
the inferior half will take the name and the picture from the
regular candidate and the substitute's name.
b) If the Political Party doesn't present candidate in some district,
the corresponding column is without occupying.
c) To the reverse, it takes the district and the polling station
number.

In Brazil, there is an electronic voting system for elections.
Art. 59. Voting and the totalization of votes shall be done by electronic system, and the Superior Electoral Court may authorize, on an exceptional basis, the application of the rules set forth in Articles 83 to 89.
§ 1º The electronic voting shall be done by the candidate's number or the party's label, with the candidate's name and photo, as well as the party's name or the party's label, appearing on the electronic voting machine's display, along with the designation of the contested office in the masculine or feminine form, as applicable.

"Voting in elections or referendums shall be implemented by ticking on a balloting card prepared especially for this purpose.
The head of the polling station shall give each voter an unfolded balloting card, sealed in its back by the committee, carrying the date of the election or the referendum. He/she shall make his vote and return the card folded to the head of the station who will insert the card in the balloting box. The French overseas departments (Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Réunion) elects candidates to the French Senate and House of Representatives. The overseas departments follow the same rules as the metropole regarding the organization of the elections. They do however enjoy certain specificities concerning electoral expenditure : certain travel expenses of the candidates are not taken into account in the ceiling of candidates' election expenses (article L.52-12 of the electoral code). Besides, the French Parliament is discussing a bill which would allow elections to be held on Saturday in Guadeloupe, Martinique and Guiana (because of the time lag, people from these departments knew the results of the elections in the metropole before they voted).

On election day, and upon entry to a polling station, the voter is given an official envelope, and shown to a voting booth.
Inside the booth is a tray of slips, one for each party. The slips are printed with the "ballot letters" of the party (between one and three Hebrew or Arabic letters), the full official name of the party, and sometimes a slogan in small print. Each party publicizes their letter prior to election day, with most election posters featuring them. As many political parties in Israel are known by their acronyms, several parties can spell out their name in two or three letters, and thus use their name as their ballot letters (e.g. Meretz and Hetz).
The voter chooses the relevant slip for their party, puts it in the envelope, seals it, and then places the envelope into the ballot box.

Article 37. The ballot paper
1. The ballot paper shall include all registered candidates with indication of their surnames, given names in the alphabetic order of the state language. The ballot paper for voting for political parties shall include the names of political parties in the order determined by a casting of lots. The casting of lots shall be conducted by the Central Election Commission. The procedure for casting of lots shall be determined by the Central Election Commission.
1-1. The Central Election Commission shall determine the procedure for making changes to the ballots in the event of withdrawal of a candidate, cancellation of the decision to nominate a candidate, cancellation of the decision on registration of candidates, party lists.
2. The ballots shall be printed in the State and Russian languages.
The ballots shall be made in the amount equal to the number of voters in electoral precinct with a reserve of one percent of the total number of voters of the given electoral precinct.
3. Ballots shall be delivered to the precinct election commissions not earlier than three days and not later than one day before the elections with a reserve of 1 per cent of the total number of voters at the polling station.
4. The clause is excluded by the Constitutional Act of RK of 14.04.2004 No. 545-II.
5. The premises where the ballots are kept shall be sealed and handed over the internal affairs bodies for preservation.
Art 42 Conduct of Voting
1. Ballots shall be filled in by voters in a polling booth. While filling in the ballots, the presence of anybody in the polling booth, except the voter, shall be forbidden. The voter (elector) who cannot independently fill in a ballot shall be eligible to be assisted by a person to whom he/she trusts. After voting, the surname of this person shall be written down in the register next to the voter’s (elector’s) signature upon receipt of a ballot.
The following ballots shall be recognized as null and void:
1) of not established format;
2) with no signature of the member of the corresponding election commission;

A commission’s member, who has issued a ballot-paper (ballot-papers), shall put his/her signature in it as well as in the register against the surname of the voter (elector) who has received the ballot-paper (ballot-papers). (Constitutional Law on Elections in the RK, Art. 41,5)
The voter (elector) shall put any mark in an empty space to the right of the surname of the candidate for whom he/she votes.
In the ballot with the names of political parties the voter shall put any mark in an empty space to the right of the name of the political party for which he/she votes. (Constitutional Law on Elections of the RK, Art. 42,2)

1. The procedure of production and delivery of ballots, and the procedure for exercising control over their production and delivery shall be approved by the Central Election Commission no later than 45 days before voting day.
2. To protect against forgery of ballots during their production, paper with water marks shall be used, or paper with typographically inscribed micro script and protective netting, or a special character (mark) may be used for the same purpose. The procedure for making and using special characters (marks), their number, as well as the requirements for the transfer of special characters (marks) by higher election commissions to lower election commissions shall be approved by the Central Election Commission no later than 60 days before voting day.
3. To assist visually impaired voters, by decision of the relevant election commission, special stencils for the completion of ballots shall be made, including using the relief-dot Braille. Polling stations for which such stencils shall be made shall be determined by decision of the election commission of a Russian Federation subject.
4. In order to vote in elections to the State Duma, ballots for voting in the federal electoral district and in single-mandate electoral district shall be produced, which should differ in form. The form and text of the ballot for voting in the federal electoral district in Russian, as well as the form of the ballot for voting in single-mandate electoral districts shall be approved by the Central Election Commission no later than 23 days before voting day. The text of the ballot for voting in single-mandate electoral districts in Russian shall be approved by district election commissions no later than 22 days before voting day. The text of the ballot must be placed on one side of the ballot, except in cases when the ballot for voting in the federal electoral district includes more than 20 registered federal lists of candidates, and the ballot voting in single-mandate electoral districts - more than 30 registered candidates. In these cases, the ballot paper may be produced in the form of a

brochure. If transparent ballot boxes are used, the form of ballot is set taking into account the need to protect the secrecy of voting, except in cases when by decision of the Central Election Commission envelopes are used for this purpose.
5. The ballot for voting in the federal electoral district shall include, in the order determined by drawing lots, the names of political parties which registered federal lists of candidates, as well as the emblems of these political parties (if they were submitted to the Central Election Commission in accordance with part 3 of Article 37 of the present Federal Law) in monochrome version. The draw shall be conducted by the Central Election Commission, with participation of authorized representatives of political parties, not later than 30 days before voting day. The number obtained by the political party as a result of the draw, shall be maintained until the end of the election campaign. Under the name of the political party, the surname, first name and patronymic of registered candidates on the federal part of a federal list of candidates shall be placed; the number of the regional group of candidates (if any) and the surname, firstname and patronymic of the first three registered candidates included in this regional group of candidates. If there is no federal part and appropriate regional group of candidates in the federal list of candidates, the ballot shall contain only the name of the political party that registered this federal list of candidates, and its emblem (if it was presented to the Central Election Commission in accordance with Part 3 of Article 37 of the present Federal Law). If there is no federal part in the federal list of candidates, the ballot shall include the name of the political party that registered this federal list of candidates, its emblem (if it was presented to the Central Election Commission in accordance with Part 3 of Article 37 of the present Federal Law), the number of the corresponding regional group of candidates and surname, first name and patronymic of the first three registered candidates included in this regional group of candidates. If more than ten federal lists of candidates are registered, by decision of the Central Election Commission the ballot shall include only names of political parties which registered federal lists of candidates, and the emblems of these political parties (if they were submitted to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation in accordance with Part 3 of Article 37 of the present Law). In this case, the surname, first name and patronymic of the registered candidates on the federal part of the federal lists of candidates, the number of corresponding regional groups of candidates, surnames, first names and patronymics of the first three registered candidates included in these regional groups of candidates, as well as other information provided by this Article, shall be indicated in special information material, which shall be made according to the form prescribed by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, election commission of a Russian Federation subject. This information material shall be placed in the cabin or other specially equipped place for secret voting and (or) on the information board referred to in part 3 of Article 78 of the present Federal Law.
6. An empty square shall be placed to the right of the name of each political party or under the name of each political party and information about the registered candidates included in the corresponding regional group of candidates (if any).
7. In the ballot for voting in a single-mandate electoral district the surnames of registered candidates shall be placed in alphabetical order, while the ballot shall contain the following information about each of the registered candidates.

Every ballot paper is marked with an official mark, which can be either stamped or perforated. This official mark is kept in secret an interval of not less than seven years shall intervene between the use of the same official mark at elections in the same polling division.

n. Each party is given a number randomly.
A ballot shall be printed for any political party that nominates its members. A separate ballot shall be also printed for any political party that nominates its members in coalition, with the stipulation that in addition to the prerequisites according to paragraph 2, the name of the respective coalition political party or political movement shall be given on the ballot.
(2) The Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic shall ensure the necessary number of ballots based on the registered Lists of Candidates. The drawn number of the List of Candidates, name of political party or coalition, first name and surname of candidates, academic title, age, sex, permanent residence and membership in political party must be stated on the ballot. The order of candidates on the ballot must be the same as their order on the List of Candidates. If a political party has placed its graphical symbol on the List of Candidates, it shall also be placed on the ballot.
(3) Ballots for the elections in the National Council of the Slovak Republic must be printed using the same font and size of letters, on the paper of the same color, quality and size. Ballots shall be stamped by the seal of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic.
(4) The Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic shall deliver ballots to the mayors of municipalities who shall ensure that the ballots are delivered to all Precinct Election Commissions on the day of elections.
(5) The voter shall receive ballots in the polling station on the day of elections.
(6) If a political party has been dissolved, or if its activity has been suspended8c , or if a political party has withdrawn its List of Candidates after registration of the List of Candidates, the ballots of this political party shall not be printed, and if they have been printed, the election commissions shall ensure that they not be distributed to voters in polling stations.

Only the ballots for ethnic representatives allow for voting for candidates within the list.
The ballots for ethnic minorities are printed in their language as well.
Voting shall be conducted with a ballot paper.
A ballot paper for voting on candidates in electoral districts shall comprise:
- the mark of the constituency;
- the mark of the electoral district;
- the serial numbers and names of the lists of candidates in the order from the roll of lists of candidates, and the full names of the candidates standing for election in the electoral district;
- instructions on how to vote.
A voter may vote for only one candidate. A voter shall vote by encircling the serial number before the name of the candidate for whom he wishes to vote.
A ballot paper for voting on candidates for deputy of the Italian or Hungarian national communities shall comprise:
- the mark of the constituency;
- the full names of the candidates in the order from the roll of candidates;
- instructions on how to vote.
A voter shall vote by indicating his preferential order of candidates in front of the names of the candidates, starting with number 1.
