Cormier Thomas

Tom Cormier is a senior international development and evaluation consultant specializing in democratic development and electoral support. Working internationally since 1999, Tom has designed and directed numerous democratic development and human rights projects and programs in a variety of challenging and dynamic political environments in Europe, Eurasia, Asia, the Americas and Africa. The programs sought to improve electoral frameworks, professionalize domestic and international election observation, strengthen political parties and civil society organizations, encourage peaceful political dialogue, promote understanding and respect of human rights, increase public participation in the democratic process, provide skills-building for legislators and foster reform of democratic institutions with a special emphasis on the institutional development of legislatures. Tom’s international governance and electoral experience includes Canada, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, United States, Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Malawi, Djibouti, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Libya, Egypt, Haiti, Myanmar and Bhutan.
