Leandro Nagore

Leandro NAGORE de SOUSA has a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a post-graduate degree in Public International Law. Over the past 14 years, he has participated in numerous election observation and expert missions with the OSCE/ODIHR, The Carter Center and the EU, as STO, LTO followed by positions as observer coordinator, reporting officer as well as legal/electoral expert. Through this work Leandro has been involved in over 20 electoral processes around the world. In his own country, Leandro was recruited by the Madrid Electoral Board for the 2007 and 2008 electoral processes. Since 2009, Leandro has enjoyed the opportunity of being a regular trainer/facilitator for different national and international observer organisations as well as working in the field of technical electoral assistance. As a researcher Leandro has been involved in numerous projects on electoral support methodology and co-authored publications on international obligations for elections and national observation. Leandro has also worked in the development and facilitation of various online courses and elearning platforms on election observation and assistance as well as developing and delivering a Masters Degree course in Democracy Support at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Leandro is the Head of Research of the EDGE Foundation.
