Comments: For a new party to be registered, first, a group of at least 100 citizens files a request to start the procedure of affiliation, and if granted, no less than 50,000 citizens must be affiliated.

Independent candidates


Question:Can independent candidates compete in presidential or legislative elections?
Answer(s): c. In legislative elections (Chamber 1)
Comments: Independent candidates can run only for legislative elections. In this case, they have to submit 6000 - 12000 voters' signatures, depending on the size of the constituency in which they are running. They also have to deposit an amount equal to at least 25% of their estimated campaign budget.
