Political parties are entitled to public funding. a) Each candidate or list of candidates is entitled to equal space for placing electoral posters and to equal broadcast time. c & e) In 2009, political parties were granted $2 million according to the number of deputies or senators representing each party in the parliament. State funding was also distributed to parties that were not represented in parliament, but had put forward candidates in more than half of the constituencies, or had obtained at least 5% of the votes cast in all electoral districts in the previous elections.
