Tafadzwa,Roberta Muropa

She has 10 years of experience in the non profit sector, working directly with local communities as a Technical Advisor in the areas of Governance, Gender and Development in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region. Her previous placement with Progressio as a Capacity Building and Advocacy Advisor for CCJP Archdiocese of Lilongwe, focused on providing technical support to CCJP Lilongwe and other faith based organizations in the area of promoting political tolerance and enhancing conflict management, mitigating political violence, towards the May 2014 Tripartite Elections in Malawi. She has worked with national networks on gender and women’s rights (Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe-WCoZ) as well as economic justice (Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development-ZIMCODD) from 2010 to early 2013 and from 2004 to 2006 in Zimbabwe respectively. She has also been engaged with International Organizations(INGOs) in the field of Gender, HIV & AIDs and Urban Development, with ActionAid in 2007 and WeEffect(formerly Swedish Co-operative Centre) from 2008 to 2009 respectively not only in Zimbabwe but in the Southern African region. She has acquired skills in public policy and advocacy, project management, programming, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, media advocacy, facilitation training workshops, events co-ordination, alliance building, project management and knowledge management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economic History and Philosophy from University of Zimbabwe (2002), a Post Graduate certificate in Policy Analysis and Advocacy and has undertaken introductory courses in Public Policy and Governance (Masters Degree in Public Policy and Governance)with the Africa University in October 2012, of which she intends to continue with her studies. She is an active member of the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ), Federation of African Media Women in Zimbabwe (FAMWZ) and Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD).She is currently engaged in consultancy assignment within the NGO sector, with focus on report writing for workshops and conferences and facilitation.
