David George Ian Mathieson

David Mathieson is an experienced IT Director, Consultant & Project Manager, with more than 40 years’ experience in all aspects of information technology, at all levels and in a wide spectrum of industries and public bodies. He has a proven track record in SME start-ups and in turning round failing IT departments, in building up successful teams and delivering reliable, cost-effective services. With more than 15 years of experience in elections management and voter registrations, he has worked to build capacity within election commissions, set up data centres and financial systems, designed voter registration processes, and managed successful election projects. As Director & Treasurer of ERIS he was also responsible for finance, IT, and for ensuring that projects were properly managed within donor rules and deliver the required results. A hybrid manager, equally able to deal at commission-level or to get his hands dirty and lead technical teams from the front; he is results-orientated with solid organisational & infrastructure planning skills. He brings strong leadership, strategic & high-level project planning, a flexible approach, cost-effective operational management and a record of delivering practical solutions. David is available for Electoral Needs Assessments, Planning for Voter Registration and Elections, Evaluating Technical Proposals, Procurement, setting up Data Centres, recruiting and training IT teams, Communications, Logistic, and Accounting systems, Technical & Security Audits and Project Management of Registration and Elections. Or if there are technical problems he can work with the technical team and fix the solution.
