Prabhat Kumar

I have over seventeen years of progressive experience with the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), UNDP Electoral Support Project (ESP), UNOCHA, WFP, UN RCO, Election Commission of Nepal, Government, and INGOs in planning and implementation of peace building and electoral technical assistance projects including organizing of the two Constituent Assembly (CA) Elections (2008 & 2013), strategic planning, information management, GIS mapping services, capacity building, project administration and management, infrastructure development etc. I have authored the first ever Electoral Atlas of Nepal which was published at UNDP team work (https://undp.unteamworks.org/es/node/471588). I have been continuously working as GIS Officer with multi UN agencies (UNMIN, UN OCHA, UNDP, UN RCO, WFP) since September 2007 and produced more than 2500 mapping products on a wide range of thematic areas ranging from peace, security, election etc. These maps were widely circulated with key national and international stakeholders via OCHA’s mapping portal. I am a certified GISP issued by GIS Certification Institute, USA; hold MSc. in Geo-information science and earth observation (Specialization: Geo-informatics) from ITC, The Netherlands and B.E. in Civil Engineering from NIT, Trichy, India. I am currently working for UNDP ESP as GIS Officer and engaged in supporting Election Commission of Nepal in adopting GIS based Electroal Mappign System, a nation-wide polling location mapping, electoral securitya and rsik mapping, and generation of other electoral maps.
