Hannah RobertsHannah Roberts is an independent election and governance consultant with over ten years of experience. Recently she planned a five year UNDP election project in Bangladesh, and was part of a five-person DFID/USAID appointed assessment team of the Nigerian electoral framework. Hannah has extensive experience in Pakistan, working on DRI’s electoral reform project, and prior to this in planning EU assistance to the parliament, and as Deputy Chief Observer on the EU’s 2008 Election Observation Mission. Hannah was Deputy Head of Mission on the OSCE/ODIHR Election Support Team to Afghanistan 2009. Previously she worked for three months doing technical assistance in the Maldives with the Election Commission that became an independent institution during this period. Before that Hannah was the Project Director for the Network of Europeans for Electoral and Democracy Support (NEEDS) funded by the European Commission to improve standards in EU and domestic observation. This included organizing and running training and technical assistance, and producing materials (including on the use of international standards in election observation). Hannah has participated in a variety of core team and field positions on observation missions with the European Union, OSCE/ODIHR, and with the Council of Europe. This has included work in the US, Africa, Asia and Europe. In addition to this she has undertaken a variety of technical assistance tasks, including restructuring and strategic planning for the National Elections Board of Ethiopia (2006). She was the Deputy Head of Country for the 2005 Iraqi Out-of -Country Voting in Syria. Hannah has also written polling manuals, voter education materials and observation resources. |
