The provision for party agents to be present during all phases of the electoral process, from voter registration through to the announcement of the results is a very positive factor. However, the process would be even further strengthened and the transparency increased further if such agents were better equipped to do the job. In this respect, increased training of party agents is recommended, increasing their understanding of the process, their role and the procedures for complaints and appeals.
