The large number of nominations (779 for the 2005 elections) should be reduced by requesting both existing and new political parties and independent candidates to
present the signatures of 1% of the registered voters of their constituency (electoral district for HoR, County for Senate). For presidential candidates the requirement
should be the signatures of 1% of the registered voters from each of the 15 counties of Liberia.
