In recognition of the recent efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the GAM to commit themselves to peace, democracy and reconciliation, the EUEOM considers it imperative that all relevant national and provincial authorities, current national and future local political parties, and newly elected heads of local government continue their engagement in sustaining the democratic process and create a stable environment and robust frameworks for future elections.
