Increased representation of women in public and political life should be reviewed to ensure their full participation in the decision making process and political party structures. The 30 per cent target quota for female participation in parliament should be addressed and quotas for female parliamentarians reconsidered. Furthermore, greater respect and understanding of the political parties concerning the positive role of women in the political and civil spheres is essential and should be a priority initiative for the new parliament and the parties.
