Desirable - The EU EOM considers that the extension of mandates for Legislative Assembly parliamentarians as well as for Municipal Councillors could be very positive. These mandates are currently for three-year terms; extending them might enable longer government as well as reducing the perception, held by an important part of Salvadoran citizens, of living in a permanent election campaign.
