Charles LashamCharles Lasham has over 30 year’s experience in elections and is a former Returning Officer in the United Kingdom and European Regional Returning Officer for the North West of England. Charles has notable experience of worldwide elections having worked in more than thirty 30 countries globally on pre-election technical assessment, election studies, election assessments, voter registry, and advising electoral management bodies. He is a founding member and Chairman of the UK Association of Electoral Administrators and holds the Diploma in Electoral Administration. Under IFES, he has served as the Foundation’s on-site Country Director in Moldova, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt where, over an 11 year period, he offered full-time advice to EMBs, has undertaken Strategic Planning for EMBs and trained electoral officials, domestic and international election observers and worked with political parties and civil society organizations and assisted with the development of local authorities. In addition to being a member of the UK Association of Electoral Administrators, he is also a member of the Association of Electoral Administrators UK and the International Association of Clerks, Recorders and Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT) USA. |
