تعليقات The President of the Republic is both the head of state and the head of government. The President is elected by secret and direct ballot for a period of four years, by 50% plus one of the ballots. If no candidate secures the said majority, a runoff election is held three weeks later when only those two candidates who received the most votes in the first round of balloting participate. The candidate with the larger number of votes is declared President.
