تعليقات Each district (moughataa) forms one electoral constituency. There is an exception for the capital district of Nouakchott which has three (3) electoral districts according to the three states, with each district being granted seven (7) seats. The changes to the capital were agreed upon in reforms passed in 2022. In addition, the whole country forms one constituency for the election of 20 deputies and 20 female deputies.

The consultations on the new boundary for the capital district specified the new boundaires being created to "in order to better connect the representatives to their voters". In addition, the whole country forms one constituency for the election of 20 deputies and 20 female deputies.
