تعليقات The constituencies’ number changes according to the type of election. A single national electoral district is used in presidential and Andean Parliament elections, while for the elections for the Republic’s Congress it is divided into twenty-six electoral districts (according to the multiple electoral district exercise) which correspond to each one of the twenty-four regions, the Constitutional Province of Callao and Lima Provinces.

تعليقات Three criteria are considered to set the number of representatives from each electoral district: a) Equity, by which one seat is assigned to each electoral district. b) Proportional Distribution, so that the remaining seats are allocated according to the electoral population from each district. C) Direct or Fixed Distribution, meaning that one or more electoral districts are directly assigned with a specific number of seats. Peru’s constituencies can be small, i.e. the Madre de Dios electoral district (one seat); medium, like La Libertad (seven seats); and large, such as Lima (thirty-six seats).
