Nigeria: Final Report, General Elections, IRI (2003)
This is a report from an International Republican Institute's (IRI) observation mission in the 2003 general elections in Nigeria. In April, the Nigerian people elected a new National Assembly and a President. The Institute encountered several fraudulent acts and inadequate procedures as well as deliberate falsification, but believes that the overall integrity of the electoral process – and the outcome – was not compromised. Finally, the report makes some important recommendations for future reforms.
