Guyana: Advisory for Contesting Political Parties, General and Regional Elections 2006, GECOM (2006)
This Advisory is designed for use during the conduct of Elections for the President, Members of the National Assembly (Geographical Constituencies and national Top-Up) and Members of the Regional Democratic Councils in 2006. It is intended to provide an easy guide to contesting parties, International and Local Observers and other interested persons who are stakeholders and are observing the democratic processes of the elections.
Guyana: Analysis of the Media, 2001 Elections, GECOM
The report of the Media Monitoring Unit (MMU) established within the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) with the assistance of external donors. Its purpose was to monitor and analyse the capacity of Guyana’s newspapers, radio and television stations. Using the voluntarily agreed Media Code of Conduct as the objective basis for analysis, the MMU assessments were made available to other monitoring bodies, the media, political parties, special interest organisations and the public at large. The assessments analysed the extent to which media fulfilled their agreed obligations to cover and report on the election period in a free, fair and balanced manner.
Guyana: Audit and Systems Review of Elections 2001
The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) decided to commissioned a Systems Review and Audit of the election which it conducted on the 19th of March 2001. It was intended that the Audit would contribute to the transparency of GECOM and the general administration of the processes.

This report treats the major activities undertaken by the Guyana Electoral Commission (GECOM) in 2004. The Commission announces that the Commonwealth Secretariat will take part in a needs assessment mission in Guyana. The GECOM is preparing for the 2006 elections. Deolall Ramlall, a civic voter manager was sent to Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of the GECOM to examine how the country's Electoral Management body carries on their voter education programs.
Guyana: Elections Commission Activity Report (2005)
This report treats the major activities undertaken by the Guyana Electoral Commission (GECOM) in 2005. The GECOM has received the needs assessment report from the Commonwealth Secretariat and is currently issuing temporary identity card to process to the voters registration. The Elections commission has also signed an agreement with the Government of Guyana and several donors in order to obtain support for the next elections. The GECOM is preparing a report supporting legal reforms that aims to reinforce electoral transparency. Certain deficiencies in the Election Laws were underlined by a USAID report.

The Carter Center's final report on Guyana’s 2015 general and regional elections summarizes the Center’s observation activities and makes recommendations to the Guyanese authorities to improve future elections to help bring them in line with international standards for democratic elections and Guyana’s own legal framework. In the report, The Center repeats its longstanding support for fundamental constitutional reform that attenuates the problems with the current winner-take-all system. The urgency of this challenge is made greater with the anticipated influx of oil revenue, which has the potential to exacerbate ethnic and political conflicts.
