El Salvador: Election Observation Final Report, 2009 Elections, European Union

Following an invitation from the Tribunal Supremo Electoral and the Government of El Salvador to observe the Presidential Elections on 15 March 2009, the European Union deployed an Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM). This report was published in May 2009, and contains an overview of the main findings and conclusions of the EU-EOM, while it also outlines a series of recommendations, based on these findings and in line with international commitments on electoral matters, which could lead to the introduction of some improvements with a view to future electoral processes.
