Bhutan: Final report, National Assembly elections, European Union (2008)

This is a final report on the first National Assembly elections that took place on March 24, 2008. These elections marked the change in the political system in Bhutan from absolute to constitutional monarchy. With the voter turnout of 79.4% and commitment of the state institutions to support the democratic process, the report concludes that foundations for solid democracy in Bhutan were established.
