Nepal: Preliminary Statement, Constituent Assembly Election, EU, (2008)

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) has been present in Nepal since 2 March 2008. The 10 April 2008 election to the Constituent Assembly represents a crucial step towards the restoration of representative democracy in Nepal. So far, it has generally been organised in a professional and transparent manner meeting many international standards.
