Bulgaria’s Centre-Right GERB Eyes Return to Power, Balkan Insight (2014)
Following the early parliamentary elections held on 5 October 2014, the center-right party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) received the highest number of votes, leaving behind the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the ethnic-Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms which occupied the second and third place respectively. However, without having secured an absolute majority of seats in parliament, the GERB will now have to search for coalition partners in order to form a new government.
