Presidential candidates register for election in Belarus, Deutsche Welle (2010)
This article reports on the preparations for the forthcoming elections in Belarus. The Electoral Commission has completed the registration of a record number presidential candidate (10). The latest opinion polls show that incumbent president Lukashenko maintains his popularity (31% - an historic low), while the other candidates do not pose a serious challenge (between 2 and 11%). The presidential election is scheduled for December 19.
