Swiss to vote on mosque minarets ban, The Guardian (2009)

A controversial referendum is taking place in Switzerland on November 29, in which the Swiss are to decide whether to ban minarets on mosques. Even though the opinion polls indicate that the anti-minaret campaign will lose, at least a third of voters is expected to support the ban.
